Théâtre de Caen

The only operatic stage of Basse-Normandie and home to the Arts Florissants directed by William Christie, the théâtre de Caen puts a lot of effort into an international network of coproduction in order to put on operas, in particular baroque (Il Sant'Alessio, Rinaldo, Atys, La Didone, Vénus et Adonis, L'Olympiade…). With a view to transmission, it also houses, every two years, Le Jardin des Voix, a school of young singers founded by William Christie.

The cultural project of the théâtre de Caen honoured by the 135 000 spectators in 2012/2013 highlights every sort of the live show and deems it important to promote free access (over fifty representations).
