Created under the reign of Louis XIV, in 1714, the Opéra Comique is one of the oldest cultural institutions in France. Home to a burlesque musical genre, creative and close to theatre, the Opéra Comique has produced emblematic works such as Pelléas et Mélisande or Carmen. Registered in 2005 on the list of national theatres and, since 2007, directed by Jérôme Deschamps, the institution resumes a three-century repertory tradition and programmes creations.
